Pressed flat yet agile,
Beneath the skin they glide,
Feeding of the soul and bile.
Such fears make our Fate,
The land’s surface is abandoned,
Barren voices float of drain grates,
Hope arises from cutting through pain.
In the room with curtains, no walls to bind,
The wind walks in like an old, lost friend.
A one-eyed cat keeps watch, half-blind,
While silence curls at each loosened end.
The city hums through fabric thin,
A breathless space that does not keep.
No door to close, no way to win—
Just wind, and fur, and nights without sleep.
And one soft eye that never weeps.
She laughed, she cried, she danced, she sang,
She's done her best and she's proven her worth,
In all her effort, a new life sprang,
Then suddenly, she was heard!
Success brings excitement; which dissipates quickly into void,
Now, is she truly happy?
What then remains but youth and beauty?
Its' true value, not thought about with enough gratitude.
We know how the patterns cycle,
Thus, the future made known,
In the final moment, when the earth stood still,
There was no choice, nor will.
Where creation sparkled,
Beyond the sands of time,
In Eternity I am bestowed,
The joy to call You mine.
